The Chocolate Soldier

Paul will be playing Major Petkoff in “The Chocolate Soldier” by Oscar Straus with Opera della luna at Wilton’s Music Hall in London. The operetta is based on George Bernard Shaw’s play “Arms And The Man”, although Shaw insisted that none of his dialogue or the names of his characters could be used – Petkoff was renamed Colonel Popoff in the operetta. Now that Shaw’s works are out of copyright, this will be the first production to use Shaw’s dialogue and character names.

There will be new English lyrics by the director Jeff Clarke. The conductor is James Ham and the cast includes Eleanor Sanderson-Nash, Felicity Buckland, Kristin Finnigan, Guy Elliott, Robin Bailey and Felix Kemp.

The show runs from Tuesday 23 to Saturday 27 June with two shows on the Saturday. For tickets see: https://wiltons.org.uk/whats-on/the-chocolate-soldier/

There will be additional performances at IF Opera, Church Farm, Wingfield BA14 9LE on Tuesday 11, Thursday 13 & Friday 14 August at 7pm.
