Directing

Paul was Associate Director of English Pocket Opera Company (2012-2020), directing productions of Bartok’s “Bluebeard’s Castle” and Verdi’s “Macbeth” and devising workshop productions of “Hansel & Gretel”, “Opera Quest” and “The History Of Western Classical Music (Part 1)”.

He directed Mozart’s “Cosi fan tutte” for Pimlico Opera, Krenek’s “Jonny Strikes Up” for Music Theatre Scotland, Menotti’s “The Consul”, Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Mozart & Salieri’, Menotti’s “The Medium” & “The Telephone” for the Glasgow Opera Group and Peter Shaffer’s “Amadeus” for the Kilmardinny Theatre Group.

At the University of Glasgow, he was President of the Student Theatre Group and directed productions of Edward Bond’s “Lear” and Joe Orton’s “Ruffian On The Stair”. For the Great Western Theatre Company, he directed Buchner’s “Woyzeck”, Bond’s “Lear” and Beaumarchais’ “The Barber Of Seville”.

He also worked as an Assistant Director at Scottish Opera and the Glasgow Citizens Theatre.
