Thanks to everyone who came up to me during the street performances in Glasgow, wanting information about future concerts – I promise to try and keep this page updated and let you know what’s happening.

2009 was an odd year – lots of covers at Opera North and concerts all over the place, but not enough opera performances. Hopefully 2010 will be different.  Things are starting to pick up again already.

I will be singing the role of Macduff in Verdi’s “Macbeth”, this time for Edinburgh Grand Opera at the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh in the last week of May. The opera is double cast – I will be singing on Wed 26 & Fri 28 May.  www.edinburghgrandopera.com

I am also singing Macheath in a concert performance of Kurt Weill’s “Threepenny Opera” with the Auricle Ensemble at Oran Mor (Byres Road, Glasgow) on June 11 as part of the West End Festival.

On Sat.19 June, I will be singing Radames in a concert version of “Aida” at the Riley Smith Hall, University of Leeds with the Northern Wagner Orchestra.

I will be at the Buxton Festival in July, covering the role of Rodolfo in Verdi’s “Luisa Miller”.  I will be singing in scenes from the opera on July 21 at 11am(!) at the Palace Hotel, Buxton.

Also at Buxton, a workshop with the director Alessandro Talevi, entitled “So, what’s my motivation?” In this case it isn’t the fee, so if you want to find out, come along to the Buxton Opera House on July 17 at 12.30.

At the Edinburgh Festival this year, I will be singing the role of Harry in a concert performance of Puccini’s “La Fanciulla del West” at the Usher Hall on Monday 23 August at 7pm.  Francesco Corti conducts the Scottish Opera Orchestra.

There are also plans to sing Mime in a concert performance of Wagner’s “Siegfried” in Edinburgh on September 26. More details to follow.
